Hey guys...

I've got to drop the whole #^$^@& rear subframe again. Since my gas tank is already fubar, I'm going to swap it out with one from the parts car I just bought. When doing this, I think I might replace the fuel pump.

Is a fuel pump real easy to replace when the tank is in the car (I think there's an access hatch under the rear seat), or is this something I should do at this time while the tank is out and on the ground? It's coming from a parts car, so I have no idea as to it's condition, but the one in my car still works fine.

And, all that being said...

Where's the best/cheapest place to buy an OEM fuel pump.
No cheapie brands... I want to see "Made in Germany" stamped on it at the very least.

They seem quite expensive... like $260!

Call up Patrick @ BMA parts. They have the pretty competitive prices and you'll be getting the german stuff!

Oh and the fuel pump is cake to take out...took me 2 minutes to take it out of my parts car.

Fuel pump is located under passenger side seat, under a cover plate.....You will probably have to unhook the lines anyway when you drop the tank.

If it's that easy, I'll just keep what's in there till it dies, and keep my old one as a backup. :cool:

I should clarify....It is under the passenger side of the REAR seat....

Take them out and inspect them. Check the socks for crud and clean them. You'll have a pump and a spare and $ in your pocket. Put some stuff in the spare to keep it lubed and prevent corrosion.
Spend the $180 on your girlfriend - that's a high yield investment and way more fun than you can have with a new fuel pump and two spares.
