Carlos,

The passport 8500 is a radar detector.

Does the e39 have switch plate blanks?

and its for a radar detector, so that you can retain the mute feature and power and alert LEDs from the smart cord...

Im working on making a V1 kit also, but i need to buy a v1 :p

Just curious - since there is little explanation....

What are the (2) LED's and small switch within the storage compartment??

Also, is your "remote" mount still capable of sound, etc??  Do you no longer have the 8500 mounted anywhere within the vehicle?

You need to explain better....

The LEDs are just to light the storage bin up at night. making a nicer lookin setup soon.

the passport still sits in the window, however it allows you to retain the Mute feature of the smart cord and the Power on LED and the Alert LED.
switch is for the radar detector. should have wired it into window switches power source.

If there no interest oh well, 16 year olds ideas arnt that great i guess lol
