Pulled a code 1271, COP or no?
« on: July 05, 2009, 01:12:03 AM »
So one of my coils is bad, and I feel it quite a bit.
I've liked the Idea for a COP but it just doesn't seem to be worth the dollars.

unless there were upgraded coils available, like s52 or something that was compatible, it may be worth it, but, i'd like it to be more of an upgrade if I am going to spend the money for the kit.

any Opinions on whether or not the COP kit is worth the extra bucks, for performance economy, etc? or should I just replace the coil, and call it a day?

Worth it or not is hard to say, depends on how long you plan to keep the car.

It does clean things up nicely and chances are that if one of your coils is bad, the others will follow eventually. If your spark plug wires are near their end of life, it is an easier decision.

Are there any performance coils out there that would make it more of an upgrade?

I plan to keep the car for a while.

You can order the performance coils from Bav Auto. You need to call them to get 4 of the 6 cyl coils, but they will sell them that way. Significantly ups the cost though.
