Hi Guys,
Im looking at what options are available to upgrade the exhaust on my 318iS.
Cat-back systems are fine, though they are hard to get down in Aus, so I'm considering my options for a custom system.
The 318iS has 4-2-1 system, but I've noticed that the headers end with 2 pipes, and then are collected into one by the next piece.
I'm wondering if there would be any benefit in fabricating a system where the 2 pipes stay separate, the whole way through, and exit with a twin-pipe exhaust, like the M3 has / integrate an x-pipe.
Would there be any power gain to be had here, or do you think the reduced back pressure would ruin any low-end torque.
Perhaps something like this;
