I've bought an M42 engine from an E36 1994. :D

Just use your existing M40 flywheel/clutch/pressure plate on your M42 and maybe have it lightened. A lot less work and expense than changing to a M20 flywheel.

Question on M20 flywheel conversion
« Reply #16 on: July 16, 2006, 03:20:13 PM »
Out of what i've read here on the forum the difference is very little between the M40 singlemass flywheel and the twinmass M42 flywheel.
The M20 flywheel has another advantage except the weight: The M40/M42 flywheels have 215mm diameter and the M20 one has 228mm diameter => less power loss with the M20 one. So i'm still gonna go for the M20 setup.
I\'m here to kick ass and chew bubblegum...i\'m all outta gum :D http://www.e30.ro!
