Well, I guess I should follow the customary way of doing things and say a little about my car.

I've got a '91 318i Convertible (which I'm feeling kinda left out in the title of this forum...)  Its got about 175,000 miles and of course needs some work.  And that picture is 15 minutes away from where I live...

I guess the only "mod" I've done is to put in a leather interior.  The guy that owned it before me put in mtech springs (which I think were made for a 325, cause the front is a bit high...).

Plans at this point include some touch up on the paint, and I'm planning on redying the interior over the summer (I've already got the leatherique stuff).  Cruise control is hopefully going to happen sometime this summer, along with several maintanence items including a new guibo, and center bearing (maybe?).  I'd also like to paint the valve cover (and put some new seals in there while its off) and the intake manifold...  Theres tons of other stuff that I'd like to do but can't remember.

As for myself, I'm a mechanical engineering student at Cal Poly in san luis obispo, ca with one year left.  I don't get to drive much while I'm in school (once every week or two) which is why I don't have much of a list of stuff to do to my car...

Anyway, I'm gonna shut up now :D

Ben

Edit:  I forgot to mention that I intend to replace the dash at some point since its got some pretty serious cracks

Welcome to the forum man! You are by no means left out here! There's another guy on here with a green vert...forgot his name.

Anyways that is one good looking vert. Do you intend to keep her stock, any upgrades in the future?

Oh and that interior looks PIMP

Where are you goin to school?

As for mods, I've kicked around the idea of *gasp* putting in an one of the aluminum block S52's (since they are only about 120lbs heavier than the M42...).  If I do an engine swap then the M42 out of this would probably go in a roundie '02 of some sort.  Other than that I'd like to lower it a bit at some point, and put a strut brace on.  And it needs a stereo, I just don't have the cash or time to put it in right now.  Once I start driving it more (as in, once I'm done with school) I'll have a better idea of what I want to do with it.

Edit:  Oh yeah, thanks for the compliments...

Welcome.
Nice scenery, nice car and a great pic!
When you start to drive it more you'll come up with an extended mod and maintenance list like the rest of us.
Beautiful cabrio, Dan.

Thanks, and yeah I agree on the list thing.  I used to have one but since I started going to school here I've kind of forgotten a lot of the stuff that I need/want to do to it (I have done the H4 upgrade, forgot about that).  I'm looking forward to getting to drive more, its really a fun car to drive (the chassis flex can be interesting at times though).

I thought your car looked familiar...you've got the interior from Dave Adams' old m-tech cabrio.  Welcome to the board!
