Wipers getting stuck halfway
« on: January 09, 2009, 06:37:31 AM »
Hello,
my windshield wipers are getting stuck on the way down but they do go completley down once the wipers are activated again.

Is there any way to reset the starting position of the wipers?

I made this youtube vid here to demonstrate:

I turned my audio up, but cannot tell if it mechanically is getting hung, or if its electrically just cutting out and stopping early?

I think its a mechanical problem, it works fine when activated continuosly.
Is there a way to adjust the starting/stopping position of the wiper linkages?

Yes - pull the wiper arms off, cycle the wiper motor without them attached (on then off), then put them back on. In theory, they should then be in the resting position.
