It depends on if you have an LSD or not. If you have an LSD you need LSD specific gear oil. If not you just need plain ol gear oil. Your local parts guy will be able to answer the question of you need 1.1 quarts (at least i did) and that you need gear oil. they sell it everywhere that sells automotive parts.

There is a metal tab on the diff that should tell you.  It will also have the gear ratio.  For instance mine says S3.73 for a limited slip 3.73.  There are some other numbers as well after that.  It may say either S4.10 or just 4.10 but without the S, it's not limited slip.
You'll need:
2 crush washers
diff oil
pump (it looks like a hand pump on a bottle of liquid soap but bigger and wtih a large hose on the output side)

You'll also want a pump in order to get the oil in the diff.  The proceedure is to remove the lower drain plug and drain the oil.  Replace the crush washer and reinstall the lower drain plug.  Remove the upper fill plug, attach pump to oil bottle, insert hose from pump into upper fill hole, pump, switch bottles, pump until oil beings to flow from fill hole.  Replace crush washer and reinstall fill plug.

If yours is covered in crap like mine was you can just jack the rear of the car up and spin the rear left wheel and if the rear right spins than its LSD if not its a open diff
