fog light lens?
« on: May 02, 2008, 04:00:39 PM »
now both of my fog light lenses are cracked and a friend of mine from a shop is going down on monday to check an e30 for fogs and will pull them for me if it has them.  but if it doesn't, do the fog light lenses come off so i can just replace those?  this will save me alot of money from the dealer if they do.  if the junkyard e30 doesn't have fog lights and the lenses don't come off, i will be very very angry.  the price of one new fog light assembly is $140+, and i need 2.

google the foglight lenses you need. There is a popular plexiglass lens pair you can buy for $50 and you take off the oem lenses (break them and clean the seal) then silicone the new lenses into place.

Rare to find fogs with really good glass still in them....Usually pitted at best....Here is the link for the lenses:

also.. there is a really good DIY when you get the lenses, its pretty straight forward, but it helps to get an idea of how to install the new lenses.  I just ordered mine on friday waiting for them to come in...
