While trying to fix the 1st PO's very poorly installed stereo in my 318ic, I had of course removed the existing head unit and started to fix the "spaghetti" behind it...   Once I had the stereo out and sorted through and removed any/all non-essential non-BMW wires, I also had to sort out an issue w/ the passeger side woofer in the kick panel....

After sorting and examining things after the clean up - this is what I came across and I'm not sure what these wires are for or what purpose they serve (if any)....

1) In the radio hole:

A) I found a short (2) wire harness.  The wires on this small harness are 1 solid brown wire & 1 blue/brown wire.  These wires then go into a black square 2-pronged female connector.  Hanging off of this same continuous 2 wire harness is also a black square 2-pronged male end w/ the exact same wire colors.  The female & male connectors are a direct match and will connect to each other.   However, I have NO CLUE as to what connecting them together does (I don't think they should be connected together as it makes no sense to create a "loop"), if these are to "work" something else or if these are just optional connectors for a more equipped vehicle?  The back of the male connector has "12v+" embossed into it...

B) I also found another connector that is white and going into it is 1 solid white wire and 1 solid yellow wire.  I don't see any disconnected wires anywhere in the radio hole, nor do I see any other connectors, wires or components that would belong to or match this hanging wire harness.

Both of these misc. connectors or small harnesses as noted above in A & B that I cannot identify are coming off the right side (by glovebox in US made vehicles) from within the radio hole.  Any ideas?

2) in the passenger side kick panel hole:

I found 1 single wire that is purple/brown.  It has a female spade connector on the end of it.  It is coming out of the factory taped wiring loom.  I looked around thoroughly within the kick panel hole and I do not see any disconnected wires or extra wiring.  I also do not see any male or lone connectors this would go to.  I checked the speaker wiring digrams I have and don't see this as being any part of the speaker/stereo system.  What is this wire for, any ideas?

Pictures would help immeasurably...  :)

1A is possibly radio, I can match the wire colors but not those connectors.
1B is radio, it's on page 6500-2, right side, connector C215.

2 I dunno, I found a similar wire when I ripped out that carpet and can't remember where it goes. Does it lead back along the passenger side towards the rear or up into the a-pillar area?

Yes, it goes back (or comes down from) the A-pillar area and it is grouped with an existing harness (it was factory taped to it).
