wiper relay melt down!

my wiper relay fried on me(worst smell in the world), so i put a new one in and after a couple days i could smell that smell coming through the vents. i pulled over and pulled out the relay quick(dont want to lose another, they are $).  what could be the problem?

Bad motor, excessive current draw?  Have you had any problems with slow wipers?

Check your wiper motor. There's your problem. See if it works properly and smoothly.
