Looking For A Quiet Fuel Pump

I have had it. I have listened to my fuel pump make that high pitched whine for almost 2 years now. I thought  that it might go bad so I could get a new one. But it looks like it will run forever. So I am at the point where I am going to buy a new one to get away from the noise. So, does anybody have info about which brand of pump is the most quiet. Or which one they know to be noisy when new. I read where most any of the universal pumps can be adapted to our setup. But it's not worth it if it's just as noisy. Looks like the choices are: walbro, vdo, bosch, and the one being sold on e-bay. Also, they come in 190 and 255 lph, which one do we need, or will either one work? Help! My ears can't take it anymore.

A factory, OEM replacement, although probably not the cheapest option should be very hard to hear when the engine is running and the seat is in place. Even with the seat off, I've had trouble hearing mine. I'd go that way.

Mine is making a tiny wine... nothing much. it is constant which I heard is normal.

I just found out that the fuel pump is always on when the engine is running... I thought something was stuck on ;-)

Most newer cars are not like that are they?

All of my parent's cars have constant running fuel pumps. Listen to an older chevy silvarado or blazer, they have the world's loudest fuel pumps.

Fuel pumps always run when the car is running.  When you first turn the key to the on position it isn't running.  Once it senses the engine turning over it starts the pump and it always runs until the key is turned off.  That is why if your in an accident, you always turn the car off...whether the engine cut off or not.  If the engine cuts off, and you get a fuel leak it will just keep pumping the fuel out.
