Rear wheel bearing
« on: October 01, 2007, 09:48:36 PM »
Finally decided to investigate the noise from the rear.  Both bearings are loose.  I ordered a set of bearings.  Can someone give some idea how painful this maintenance will be.  a write up with photo would be great.

i heard without the right tools, its a pain to take them out. Not worth the effort for a DIY.

I tried to remove them myself.  My advice would be to pay the $40 at a shop and save the trouble...I think the time you would spend is worth a lot more than $40.  They tend to break apart and get pieces stuck on the hub without the right tools.
