Cluster out, what next? (pics)
« on: June 16, 2007, 02:53:47 PM »
So I finally got to removing my cluster as nothing in it worked properly. Odometer doesn't work, the only lights that work are the turn signals and the high beam light, the service lights are all green, the temp gauge is jerky, and my gas gauge is descending from full to empty after 10 liters are gone. Judging from the pics and experience, what is missing, what is broken, etc?

Basically my question can be resumed as such... Do I need a new SI board and new gears which will fix all? Or is there something more to all this mess?

I thought it was the batteries on the SI board that went bad.

Why not just get a used unit?

Because what tells me it won't become as bad as mine in a month?

Could be, but Lithium batteries are supposed to last for some time, no? I mean, I could try soldering new ones in to check if it helps, but could the speedo not work because of batteries? I changed the sender...
