Had my car hooked up to a scanner..
« on: February 24, 2007, 10:09:37 PM »
AND... i found out that my car is running well with no codes poppin up and that my tach is running lower than my actual idle..

i used the MODIS scan tool by Snap-On with the adapter for our pacman-like connectors.

the scan tool read about 800rpms while my tach was reading about 400.  when i revved the car and held it at a specific point (3000rpms on my tach) the scanner read about 3400-3600 rpms..

i noticed that my idle seemed low all the time, but i thought it was a problem with my car engine or idle control valve. even when cruisin at 80mph instead of readin 3600rpms, my tach shows about 3100.

what could have caused this 'delay' or 'slack' of my tach needle?
better yet, how do i fix this damn thing?

at least i know my cars runnin healthy :D
