What would cause a stutter in acceleration around 4K rpms.It doesn't matter what gear I'm in the car starts hesitating at or around 4K  when I'm accelerating.Runs perfect up to 4K.
I was thinking MAF but would like some feedback .

deff sounds like a crank sensor, thats what mine did.  I would check it even if you replaced it.

Well come to find out it was the spark plugs .I ordered a set of NGK BKR6EK .
What a difference they made . The champions I had in there looked good .
I had Bosch in there before them .It was my last ditch effort before looking into another MAF.
No hesitation now at all around 4K rpms . :D :D

on an vaguely unrelated note, we should pool our money for a club-owned "known good working AFM" unit to help resolve our various issues.

Still hesitating at 4k rpms?

That's a good idea about the AFM.Whenever my car is not running smoothly I think of the AFM but if you don't buy a new one then your taking the chance of getting one that is just as bad as the one you've got or worse yet ,buy one and install it but it doesn't solve the issue.
You could test it and it still be screwed because of the variables of the "barn" door testing method.
As far as my dilemma it turned out to be the spark plugs as I said in the previous post above .I was getting ready to do a AFM swap but thought I'd take one last stab with new plugs .
Who would think that a hesitation at 4K throughout the gears would be plugs .
All indications of that would point me to the AFM as I've replaced all the other sensors already .
I am glad this is not my daily driver .It's a hobby car which I like to work on and I will slowly bring it back to grandeur .We all know that we'll never get the money out that we put in .It is so much fun to drive though. When you get it up to 4 and 5k it sounds so good and performs great.
Sorry for the looong post but I really like my car.
