As for the Starquest, my friend had one and they "looked" good. They are a bit on the heavy side and you know they use the same motor as the early Chrysler minivans. Although there is one guy living just north of me running 12's in his Chrysler mini-van, "Big Daddy". IMO, not really worth doing too much work on that motor except the basics. Most people swap out to the SR20-DET for more serious power.

Yeah they are heavy, but they have great torque and you can get a lot of power pretty damn easily out of the motor.

if i can't read anything on my diff, can't i put the car in neutral, then on the lift and spin one rear tire? if they go opp. ways then it's open diff and if they roll the same dirrection then it's lsd.

That is correct.
Or you can jack one side up and try and spin it and if it doesnot spin then there is a good chance that you have an LSD. (although you can break it free i think it takes about 90 pounds of pressure to get it to spin) but if it spins freely then you have an open.

Just swapped a rebuild M3 LSD in and the difference is night and day. Especially around the track!

How does the car feel different on the track?  I drove at Thunderhill back a couple of months ago and the car had a little bit of understeer in a 90 degree turn and going into it hard.  How would the car feel after it has been LSD'd.

"Sideways" is different than a moment of panicked oversteer.

Exiting the turns at full throttle you will notice it, better grip can meen seconds.

I used to onewheelpeel all the way around turns but it really does make a difference and you will feel it.

true bout the getting sideways
lots of people rag on the engine... but then they take a ride in my car
while it may be no straightline machine.. it can get the tires out and keep em spinning
they are quick cars...
on a side note my ECU comes tommorow... got a mark D 93 octane im stoked

1. Undoing the 12-16 Halfshaft bolts
2. Undoing the 4 Driveshaft bolts
3. Undoing the 4 main bolts that connect it to the subframe
4. Put the jack under it
5. Undo the last bolt that connects it
6. Let the diff down
7. Go drink a few beers cause if this is your first time then it prolly took a good few hrs.
8. Repeat (7) if needed
9. get a buddy help line everything up
10. Bolt it back in
11. Fill it with gearoil (LSD Specific)
12. Go down the street and Rip a donut at the church down the street...

it's better to undo the last bolt before main 4 bolts

you will get better access to the main 4 bolts....
