Um, do we have antilock brakes in the US ?
« on: January 10, 2007, 12:57:53 PM »
I'm perfused.  I thought the US spec 318is did NOT have ABS, although there is an idoit light marked as such- so maybe it could be had as an option.
The other days I braked harder than I have to date in my car and heard/ felt the chunk-thunk I usually associate with ABS.  I did not see any dash lights go on, but I wasn't looking for one either.
Do we have ABS, or do I have something wrong with the binders?
Opinions please....

also, some cars that are older arent neccessarily wired to have a light go on when the abs is activated. if the brakes pulsed, you either have an incredibly fast foot or its the abs. since abs can pulse up to 15 times a second, id say you have abs.

The ABS light only goes on when there is a problem with the ABS system. All 318is I've seen had ABS. If you want to verify for yourself, check under the hood next to the airbox. That is where the hydraulic central is located.
