« on: February 26, 2014, 08:50:48 AM »
People, just a question on the below (taken from http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...54&hg=11&fg=50 )

What's the point in the screws (no. 3) in the manifold? Not seen it it later model BMW's.

Some headers have sampling ports for testing CO emissions. That's what those screws close off.

There have been reports of later exhaust manifolds getting visual fails from Californian emissions stations, if you can believe it. It seems that BMW welded those four bungs shut at the factory, and nobody has successfully proved that this is an OEM modification.
