Fuel pump issue
« on: April 28, 2013, 05:37:32 PM »
So my car hasnt been wanting to start. No fuel flowing
So i took my pump out and connected it to a battery....guess what, it works.
So i put my pump back in and took the orange fuel pump relay and jumped 30 to 85 and disconnected my fuel lines
No gasoline coming out of them
The lines arent clogged for the car was running fine before i swapped in a new m42
What can be wrong? So fed up with this issue
Idk if im doing something wrong. Any info helps
Thanks

You're making some progress!   8)   Most likely (unless someone swapped the relays around on the firewall) you have a problem in the fuel harness.  Check the wires for continuity if you have a multimeter.  If not, check to be sure the pins in the connector are making good contact with the pump connector.

Your fuel lines are a feed line and a return line.  The feed goes to one end of the fuel rail, the return line takes excess fuel back from the other end of the fuel rail.  The fuel pressure regulator (FPR) keeps the pressure in the line at 43psi.  Both fuel lines go to two metal hard lines that are bolted to the intake manifold.  There are two more small sections of line from that bracket to the fuel rail itself.  It's easiest to remove the upper manifold to see all that though.
