I still don't understant what's the deal with TOB. I used my M40 one and it works perfect. And like i said before, if you used the right flywheel (like in my photo) you don't have to use any spacers.

the deal is, we don't have access to m40 parts state-side. we have to deal with using the 323i TOB.

Can you give me part number, or point out difference in dimension? Do you have more detailed photos?

This flywheel went straight in. Note it didn't hit the oilpan. So if you want a plug and play flywheel swap search for one like in the first photo.

So which model and what year is the PnP from? Everyone seems to get a different one from rather same cars... Also, yours must also weight less than the second one you showed?

It would be great if you could make a detailed list (or even a DIY with instructions and all) of everything you needed to make the swap work!

It's quite simple. Search for an M20 wich has this flywheel and when you find it, take the starter from that engine, too.And of course you'd also need an M20 clutch (disk,plate,TOB).http://www.m42club.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=323&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1155155878
