How much puller is enough?

Hey Guys,

I am soon to embark on the dreaded subframe bushing replacement journey. Decided to go all the way and replace them all, not just the subframe bushings (left side is shot) and do the wheel bearings at the same time, I have accepted that I am never selling this car.

I'm getting a 3" and 6" 4arm puller and making a DIY hardware store tool also (not sure the 4 arm ones will be able to get it started).

Will these be enough to get all the bushings out AND press the new ones in?

Also are there any Diff seals/bearings I should be looking at?

I replaced both of my subframe bushings with an inexpensive three arm puller from Sears, grinder and/or dremel. Installed new ones with dish detergent and some various hardware from store. It was easy and effective. Look for a pic in my thread. Could send you whatever customized part you need because I'm not doing it again for some time. You will need to get your own puller. Take a look at the 7th pic in my member profile here on M42 and my 91 318is project thread #39 on bf.com That's the bitch coming out and going back in I used threaded rod, nuts, PVC end caps and washers.
