I just changed my engine temp sensor and my temp reading is still 1/4. Is there another sensor that goes to the gauge? I thought that would have fixed it.

Since the temp is still reading the same and assuming you replaced the right sensor - when did you last replace your thermostat?

when I bought my car the t-stat was stuck open and it never got hotter than 1/4.

Your guage might be right.

I replaced the one the is toward the front of the engine. I am trying to replace the one toward the back, but i don't know the part # and the guy at the parts store can't help me. It is a VDO part. I just put it back in so I could drive to the store again. Anyone know this part #?

I found that number, but I am trying to get the VDO part number. The dealer doesn't have it in stock.....

If you're dealer is worth anything, he should be able to get it in 1 or 2 days. Of course if you wanted to change it out today...You could make the 3.5-4 hour drive to get my spare one.

If I were in monticello this weekend, I would consider it. This is the brown one we are talking about, right?

Well, I replaced both sensors and that was not the problem. It turned out to be the thermostat. Now it runs just below the center line.
