« on: April 12, 2006, 06:02:05 PM »
its annoying........engine is running fine its just that when i am driving along, the check engine light comes on when i am applying the throttle....if i completly let off the pedal the light comes off until a apply the throttle again......code is still saying o2 sensor...i replaced it yesterday and now the check engine light is on permently and wont come off...check the code and it is still saying 1222.....

1222 Lambda Control 1 - This code is stored when the DME detects excessive deviations in the air-fuel mixture (too rich or too lean) for longer than 10 seconds. Possible causes: Fuel tank ran empty, Incorrect Fuel Pressure, Injector valve defective or coked, Engine Temperature Sensor defective, Secondary air leak, Fuel evaporation control system defective, Air Flow Meter defective and/or the combustion is being disturbed by mechanical failure (Spark plugs,, compression, intake/exhaust valves, ...etc.)

any help??????

I had code 107 which is) 02 sensor control....huge nightmare. I replaced the 02 sensor, all vacum lines, cleaned the idle control module checked ECU temp sensor (this could be your prob....unplug while the engine is running and if there is no difference then replace it.), checked the fuel tank ventilation system.

It ended up being a faulty injector on the #2 cylinder. The injector wasn't leaking and fuel pressure was ok (check your fuel pressure). It had an intermintent "no cycle" (where it didnt fire). i replaced the injector and it runs perfect. If you have a scanner run activation on the injectors and listen W/ a stethescope on all 4 injectors.

hope this helped, christoph.

My apologies for bringing this one back from the dead, but I'd like to know how e30_kid89 resolved this issue. I have the same symptons that he reported. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Similar symptoms here.  I get the EGO Heater code, but the problem goes away when I get off the gas.  It also seems to only be when I am at an uphill angle, oddly enough.
