RTV on Manifold Gaskets?

Should I use RTV on intake manifold gaskets? If so, which kind?

From what I've just read across other forums, it is not recommended to use rtv on the intake manifold gaskets. Take a razorblade and scrape the metal surfaces clean and smooth and then apply the paper gasket to have a seal free of vac leaks.

No sealant is required, either.
