I dont think the chain has enough play in it to pull over the cam gears. The only other way to get it off would be to remove the crankshaft gear. UGH.
The easiest way is to set it to TDC, line up the timing marks, zip tie the chain to the sprockets and mark EXACTLY where the bolts are in relation to the slots. Then remove the Camshaft gears/chain as a unit and pull it forward.

Don't forget to lock the cams.
