Hello everybody, first post here, thought I'd put up a little info on my 2nd e30, first m42.  My first e30 was a 1988 325iC, had it for about a month or so before I was cut off on the highway and it ended up totaled :\

So here I am about 4 years later, been looking for another e30 for a few months now trying to find a good one to make my DD.  Most of the body's around this area are pretty rusty or just overpriced.  I finally came across what appeared to be a good example of a rust free, clean m42.  The only problem was that as the PO put it, "A tree jumped out of no where" As e30 owners, I'm sure everyone here knows about amazing handling of an e30 in s bends, while its raining.

It didn't appear too bad off, front valance was pushed back a bit, the radiator supports were all still straight, radiator/aux fan had been pushed back a tad, the aux fan wasn't broken. Headlights all worked, even the grills were still in pretty good shape.  One side of the kidney's was cracked.  All in all seemed to be in pretty good shape for having a tree jump out in front of it.

Since I've owned it I've been over the car a few times, and it is in great shape for the price, but now it requires what appears to be a TCPG fix.  Coolant leaking out of the front pass side of the head where the gasket lays, down the engine and then finally dripping off the AC and off the bottom of the car.

It is a 1991 318i Brillantrot, interior is almost perfect, one seam on the drivers seat is torn, but all material is still there, pretty easy sewing fix on that one, and a couple cracks on the dash.  Otherwise I'd say close to mint interior.  Only spot of rust I've located on the car was under the car where the battery is located in the trunk.

All in all i'm quite happy with the purchase, it has had an e36 rack upgrade, lowered, new starter, water pump, skid plate from motor works, and a few other things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Future plans are to fix the TCPG and make it my daily for now.  New tires/wheels when spring breaks, maybe some small visual enhancements here and there.  This is more of my daily driver intro back into e30's.

Will post pics a bit later of the carnage, what do you guys suggest as a host?

Edit: Pics..

Welcome to the club!

I use photobucket and post the IMG code.  Congrats on the purchase, and good luck on the repairs.  A car jumped out in front of mine in the winter while it was parked with nobody in it ;)  Only some plastic cover damage though.

It's tough to find rustless e30's around here huh?  Mine is taking a toll from the month or so I have to drive it in the winter, and it's breaking my heart.  But I'm fighting the hell out of it :)
