would a non-airbag steering wheel fit where a normally airbag steering wheel came off

i was worried the distance from the steering wheel to blinker may be different on air bag cars or something else

The N/A wheel fits perfectly but the stalks are bent a bit more for the airbag wheel.  You'll want to modify the ones you have or better, pick up a set from the donor.  BTW, BMW changed the spline pattern in the mid-80s.  Make sure you have a "Fine Spline" wheel like the late E30 does.  You can also find them on e34s, E36s and e38s.  I swapped a 'vert sport wheel into an E34 then into my E30.

Also make sure you get the little metal spacer on the steering shaft.  I had to use two on mine - one under the wheel, one on top.  The nut wouldn't clamp the wheel otherwise.

I think I have a set of non-airbag stalks if you need them.
