Hi ok i managed to change the throttle body without stripping the manifold if anyone is interested how, here,s my verdict on changing an m42 throttle body,
As it sits you cannot get to the bottom right hand nut, to get to this remove the rubber pipe (that goes to the rocker cover) from the throttle body, then remove the two bolt that hold the semi-circular piece of steel to the front of the body. With this removed the heater unit (u shaped aluminium block with 2 pipes) can be slid forward and downward just enough to get to the nut.
From here on in its all plain sailing very straight forward, reassembly as they say is simply a reversal of the disassembly took me no longer than 40 minutes start to finish
