Light problem
« on: May 08, 2010, 06:56:34 PM »
Need a bit of help please

I have been having a few problems with the car alarm as in false alarming I have tracked it down to the door switch when the door is shut all the interior lights go off and stay off but the alarm still bleeps at me saying the door is open so I have swapped the door switch and the problem was still there the only way to fix the problem is to pull the wire on on the door switch but I want it working properly.

Any ideas :)

Might be that the circuits in the alarm control box are cooked...I'd just delete the whole system, but maybe see if the alarm wire has good continuity across the door jamb.

All those years of opening & closing the door might have crumbled the wire inside the insulation jacket.

I was in bed thinking last night about running another live to the door switch and seeing if that made any difference
