Hi all,
Last night I was driving home when my car started acting funny when only giving it a bit of throttle, then when I put the clutch in it just died. After turning it off and on a few times it idled, but with a check engine light. So I pulled over and opened the hood and found a hose had come off creating a vacuum leak.
So I plugged it back in started the car and it idled fine. A few minutes later I was accelerating fairly quick when at about 5000 rpm the power cut out for a second then came back, then a few seconds later the car cut out all together. I pulled over and everything seemed ok, however when I tried to go again I found the car would not rev over ~2200RPM, it hits that and just cuts out, then comes back on once back at 2000RPM. This makes the car buck violently
So after looking it over I decided to swap in my spare ecu and see what happens (ya I always keep a spare in the trunk

). When I put the spare in the car worked again, however after about 15 minutes of driving the same thing ocoured (also during acceleration).
So now I'm stuck with a car that won't go past 2200RPM without bucking, it won't rev past that when out of gear either. The only thing odd I noticed was the car would turn on with the ecu not in its bracket. Before it wouldn't turn on unless it was touching the bracket in some way.
My car is stock except for:
- Custom exhuast (no cats/resonator, just muffler)
- M50 Injectors
Also there is no check engine light on. Any ideas on my 2200rpm rev limit would be great!
