Does anyone know why the stomp test wouldnt work. I tried swaping ECU's and the TPS is close to spec. I replaced the AFM correcting a rich condition and now I can't get RPM's higher than Idle.:confused:

Bulb is burned out, main relay is flakey, ECU is dead, stomp 'timing' is off. Sometimes it takes me five or ten tries to get the stomping just right.

Dave, LIght stays on. I tried this test atleast 20 times, trying different speeds.LOL I tried a different ECU. Flakey Main relay?

could you specify the symptoms for the relay problems.

apparenty the stomp test wont work. At least in this case. This seems a bit silly because how does one utillize the on board diagnostics if a componant failure prevents this from working. As soon as I was able to get my original AFM to work I could get the stomp test to work on the first try. LOL go figure

Yeah, it has limitations. OBDII as planned to fix that, the car companies slowed it down so they could update their FI systems without too many bugs. I love on-board computers - makes for easy troubleshooting and permits all the great stuff the hacker community has done.

Except for EWS. BMW can shove that right up their plush upholstery.
