Discussions of possible oil leak (photos included)

My 318is has an oil leak.

It has new:
-Valve cover gasket, spark plug gaskets
-timing cover gasket (or whatever it's called parallel to the VCG, and next to the oil filter housing in the below photo)
-Oil filter hosing seals/gaskets

^Pic shows new gaskets in valve cover, and the one below that, also shows a bit of the cleaned up, new sealed oil filter housing.
-Upper/Lower oil pan gaskets

^Shows new upper/lower pan gaskets.
And I *still* have a minor leak on the passenger (right) side near the A/C compressor.

I just had a local quality BMW shop do the upper/lower pan gaskets, fixing 95% of the leak.  They cleaned up the pans and put the new gaskets in, so it is easy to see where the new leak is coming from.

In the below photos, you can see a bit of seepage (and I had just wiped it clean 5 min prior to these photos) right behind the A/C compressor bracket.  The A/C is deleted, and while I'd love to take the compressor bracket off, it leaks a lot if I do so.  (and drips off the crank position sensor).  Have you guys deleted the A/C and the compressor bracket?  If so, does that vertical seal leak?

My main question is....is there a gasket behind that vertical seal?  I guess it would be called the timing case front seal???

Also I circled (in red above) a spot where it appears the newly replaced upper oil pan gasket is seeping.  Have any of you had problems with a persistant upper pan gasket leak even after replacing it with a new one?

Wow - that's one clean engine!  Maybe I'll do that gasket replacement one of these days...

I have the same oil leak that you do, right behind the A/C bracket.  Drips off the CPS the same way.  If anyone has a cure I'd love to know before I pull the chain case apart.

Thanks Dave, it is a work in progress!

So I did a little researching/trial and error and took off the A/C compressor bracket.  I then proceeded to clean that entire passenger side of the engine where it was damp of oil.  I let the car sit for an hour...came back and still bone dry (weird hmm).  I then started it up, let it warmup to operating temp, revved it a bit to get the oil flowing AND....still no leaking.  I am letting it sit overnight and will check the garage floor in the a.m.  I am thinking maybe a 6" long bead of gasket sealer or something like that to keep the "behind the A/C comp bracket oil leak" in check.  You guys have any luck with sealing from the outside?

In other news, that area I circled above in red (the upper oil pan gasket) area was only wet because the vertical seal above was leaking down onto it (or so it seems and I am hoping after paying good money to get that dang thing replaced!)
