Dear BMW Enthusiasts,
It is now only 32 days to Easter and the beginning of our grand Easter Holiday at the Nationals 2009.
For those who have not yet decided to join us for Easter 2009, please take a look at the information Brochure and the new low prices on all the events. You don’t have to attend everything. Just choose the events that you might like to attend and register as soon as you can. If you don’t wish to stay at Craigieburn then you are free to seek out alternative accommodation in Bowral or one of the adjacent towns, Mittagong or Moss Vale.
All activities will be centred around Craigieburn or will start and end at Craigieburn. The Craigieburn Resort, as part of its normal marketing, occasionally releases a room on “wotif”. Please feel free to book directly via wotif if you can, you might snap up a bargain or you might miss out altogether. Rooms are filling fast. Please let us know on your registration if you are staying at Craigieburn so that we know where everyone will be. You might check which rooms are actually released to wotif and if breakfast is included.
At this Nationals, the “BMW Show of Excellence” will include all the traditional elements of the historic Show-n-Shine event including cleanest and best prepared cars in each class plus places for all BMWs (Historic BMWs, Club Track prepared BMWs, Rally BMWs and BMW Race Cars). Please enter your BMW even if you don’t want it to be judged. There is no entry fee for cars that are not being judged. Entry fee for cars to be judged for the handsome trophies is $10 for the first and $5 for each additional car. The Motorsport Committee have booked the Grand-Prix circuit at Oran Park, for the Motor Sport event at the 2009 Nationals. This will most likely be the last opportunity for most of us to enjoy this historic Motorsport facility before the bulldozers turn it into just another suburb. (here). Oran Park and the BMW Drivers Club NSW operate the Supersprint event under a CAMS licence. All drivers must have a CAMS L2SE or higher licence. Members of BMW Clubs from around Australia, attending the Nationals, will be able to purchase a L2SE day licence to run in the MotorSport Supersprints at Oran Park. The Licence will be $45.00 for Adults and $13.00 for children (14 -17). There will be driver training and practice in the morning. This allows new comers to BMW Motorsport and new comers to this circuit to have some time with an experienced driver who can show you the best way around this interesting and challenging Grand Prix Circuit. In the afternoon we will run Supersprints. You are times in speed groups with other drivers who demonstrated in the morning practice that they are at around about you speed and driving level. This is a great day of motorsport fun in a truly nonthreatening environment. Why not enter and enjoy your BMW on the track. The Entry Forms and Sup-regs will be on the website soon. You must let us know if you wish to purchase a CAMS Day licence when you enter and that will need to be as soon after the entries are out so we can arrange to have your licence available for you on the day.
Very stylish merchandise is being ordered for the Nationals. Your order form is on the REGISTRATION FORM so get your order in as soon as possible to not miss out on this terrific merchandise in your size. Last orders must be in by 12th March or you will just have to go with pot luck to get your size. Shirts ordered will be delivered at Registration on Friday afternoon and there will be a small stock for sale at that time.
The Nationals 2009 Organising Committee report that there will be an exciting satchel full of BMW goodies for each couple or each single attending the 2009 Nationals. These will be delivered to you at registration on Friday Afternoon.
