honestly, eBay is probably going to be your best bet.  I'd try and find one of the leather knobs.  Mine is from an e46.

I don't think "yank" is the best description. It pulls off, but very difficult if its never been off.

You need to pull like you are trying to pull the transmission out through the hole. It will come off suddenly and you'll hit yourself in the face with it when it does. I've found it's best if you actually get in the back seat to do it so your leverage is better.

ebay would be your best best for cheaper prices, with  oem style.

i just went to walmart, bought a "performance shifter" that lights up, gutted all the light shit out of it, and it looks like a ac shnitzer one, all for under 16$....

and it screws on and comes with the adapter....so no more flying off when you slam 2nd real hard ;)

i cant agree more. get something that screws in. I got a black alum shift knob from autozone for 9 bucks, it is about the size of my friends in his e30 and about 40 bucks less. it comes with all sorts of bushings to make sure it fits on perfect with no rattling.

point of the referring: a car will suck without a shift knob you can rely on.

that's whats up.

one of my buddy's has a hurst pistol grip shifter in his 85' 325e

that thing is a mad beater, 275k, primered out, blacked out bottle caps, and still gets redlined several times every day. ;)

that thing won't die.

hell yeah redline is FTW you have no idea how many granny drivers come in the shop with clogged shit because they are afraid to get on their car. and you don't need to shift hard like pulling off the shifter is way to hard the slower you shift the faster you will be.
