I meant e30 or e36 intake?? crap!

I am nearing completion of my m42 and I was previously under the impression that I had to run an e30 intake in my '89 e30. The m42 going in the car is from '93 or '94. I have both complete e30 and e36 intakes, valve covers and wiring harnesses. I am using and e36 subframe so I am using the e36 oilpan. I think I need to use the e36 wiring harness as I have a chipped and tuned ecu from a 318ti.

My question is "IF THE E36 INTAKE WILL FIT" What is the better, more powerful one to use? e30 or e36?

Will the e36 wiring harness work with either intake??

I remember reading somewhere (probably here) that the E30 intake has a higher flow.. Don't quote me on that though

I would vote for the e36 intake, DISA (?) is there for a reason and it works.

However if you were building a turbo car, I would say the e30 intake.

i agree with haledj , the e30 intake has better airflow for turbocharged setup , but the e36 intake has better airflow for n/a setup...

Sound like the e36 intake is the way to go. I've been reading the bentley on how it works and it seams like a sweet setup.

the e30 is much better for higher RPM. E36 is setup like that for low end torque

The e36 intake fits in the E30, but the flip door inside will not work, as it is electrically, and vaccum operated. therefore would need the e36 wiring harness and ECU.(correct me if I�m wrong)
It can be left open or closed. So I see the E30 intake the best option.

He said he was using the e36 harness, If he were not, the e30 one would definitally be the way to go.

I see it as the m42 does not have alot of low end torque and coming out of a corner I will need the power in that rpm range. Sound like the e36 performs better in that range. I have both e30 and e36 harnesses, but I only have a tuned ecu for the e36 harness. I'm not going to spend hours splicing wires only to hope that I did it right. (If it can be done. which i assume it can) Time is money for me and e36 setup is way simpler for me and most effective for right now.

I might do a little experimenting with the e30 intake as I have most of the parts to built another motor if needed.

I do however have another question.

I have injectors from the car that have the air tubes on them. I can't seam to find much info on this thread about how they work.
I have a set of 24 lbs injectors I wanted to use, but if used what effect will they have on the motor not having the air tubes?

My bentley does not explain where the air tubes go. How does the system work and what will happen when if I go to injectors without the air thingsters?!?!
