Hey everyone,

Ive been on bimmerforums for a year or so, and I finally picked up a 91' 318is just after xmas last year. I just recently found out about this site from a sig on bimmerforums. I've done a bit of work already to the car since I had bought it...I snagged it with 146k miles on it, and replaced the normal cooling items and the rotted hoses under the intake (wish I had seen the write up about removing those hoses before I had replaced them all :eek:).

I performed a 5 lug conversion on it , going with the M coupe suspension and brakes F/R with ground control school/track coil overs. The engine is stock for the time being, but I do have future plans to turbo/supercharge it sometime in the future.

I can't say anything bad about these cars, they're such a blast to drive. I just got back a few week ago from my first track weekend with it. It performed beyond how I had hoped, and it should only get better!

Here are some pictures I have on my comp right now. I need to take a few more once I get it cleaned up. The track pictures have F&S on it because I haven't received my CD yet, these are the ones they send you to pick what you like. Hope you like them...

. The more I look at those wheels, the better they look. Do you have aftermarket swaybars or just the coilovers?

Ya I was pleased when I got the rims on after doing the 5 lug. I use a set of BBS at the track. I only have coilovers and camber plates. Im using the stock sways right now. The car stayed very flat on the track, 500/650 springs and pretty stiff for the car.

The suspension is from a 2000 M coupe.

Ground control camber plates
Ground control track/school setup, 500lb springs in front, 650lb in rear.
Ground control tall rear shock mounts
New front control arms (particular M3 pair of arms)
Tree house racing control arm bushings (solid bushing, green pieces)
E36M tie rods
E36M front spindles/bushings
Mbrakes front and rear
M coupe rear trailing arms
E30 auto 3.73 locking diff (medium case)
M CV axles

The side picture up above is with a tein coil over setup on the car which ended up not working properly with shock height and spring sizes. The car sits a bit lower with the GC stuff on it.

I unfortunately didnt take any pictures during the swap, Ill see if I can get any pictures in the coming days, shop is kinda full at the moment.

Well, I had a timing chain failure on my m42. I have decided its time to replace the (more power here) in my sig with...well, some more power. The pictures below are of horrible quality, so I hope to take more of the stage I am at now, and as I get further along.

Plans:
2.8 motor
OBD 1 swap
3.2 cams - pink top (21lb) injectors
custom software
lightweight flywheel
stock clutch
M3 tranny

Ill keep this updated with pics as I put it back together and into the car.

Nice... Thats the best caster I've seen for a five lug using non E30 M3 parts.

M coupe control arms and treehouse racing green bushings. (If you want to know the part number for the control arms I can put it on here) The GC camber plates have caster adjustment but are set in the middle...if I shift the caster around I lose camber adustment. I'm still at around 10.5 degrees, its been a while since I have had it on the alignment rack.
