What can be used to get scratches out of glass?
« on: March 25, 2008, 07:58:39 AM »
Does anyone know of a product that can be used to either get scratches out of the surface of glass or a product that will polish glass (w/o leaving scratches)?

Apparently the owner prior to the last owner of the vehicle used either an abrasive product or sponge to get something off of the exterior passenger side of the windshield and did the same to the passenger side door corner window.  There are like 4 small areas in total where these abrasions exist.  I'm assuming they were trying to remove tree sap or some other type of substance that required the use of force and an abrasive pad or something.  The scratches appear to be fine surface abrasions (almost as if maybe fine steel wool was used) and the scratches are not deep.

Be careful on the windshield you can create distortion easily.

Pitting I would be hesitant to do, they can be deep. I asked a shop if they could remove the wiper streaks in mine, no luck.
