gas lines...in and out
« on: January 13, 2008, 11:29:40 AM »
Does anyone know which line is the feed and which is the return?

I THINK the top one is the feed but I wanted to confirm this.

I found out the easy way once when I had the intake off. With the lines disconnected I wrapped a rag around each end and bumped the key on and off real quick. One shop towel wet and the other one dry. This is the official BMW approved test procedure for hillbillies that need to bolt it together before it gets dark in the driveway. Then you have to get two floor lamps from the house and a long extension cord.

I had it as feed being the top and the return as the bottom but from that diagram it looks like the opposite with the feed as the line under with the return above.

I will flip flop them.  I might be trying to start my 2002 m42 tomorrow..

thanks
