I had one on the last car, then I totalled it while testing out my LC-1 WBO2.  I have been busy working on the MAF conversion on this car, and the MS has some bugs I need to work out (crazy ground loops disrupting the RPM signal).

i dunno what gains etc. as yet, its still quite early days for me. i've been running MS for fuel, but have been having limited success for spark. as far as the msns+e stuff that i've been doing of late, it runs for a while but i keep on blowing stuff on the coil driving circuit so i'm contemplating sending the unit off for testing unless i resolve the issues myself soon.. anyone else on here running MS with our standard coilpack?
i thought you didn't like MS gunni?

I´m not a fan per say but I respect it none the less

but a standalone is a standalone and one cant beat the other when it comes down to performance,

sure. well, i'll be interested in what it will do for me. i've just about finished it now, need a decent timing map and to fix the idle circuit, but fuel and sparks are working pretty well. needs mapping still though. why aren't you a fan of MS by the way gunni? for me, the jury's still out, I've seen both sides of the coin in terms of how powerful it is and how much of a pita it can be to get working right.

well it´s not the features, it´s the issues some people have with them,
for instance the TIC system I would choose is a DIRECT install on the M42, so only wiring and on with the tuning,

megasquirt is a diy standalone fuel and spark computer. its pretty powerful, can run MAP/MAF, alpha-n or hybrid alpha-n (like the ferrari f40!) and be configured to run just about any setup under the sun.
its not anywhere near as straightforward to install as units like gunni uses, but for me the benefits (features and cost) just about outweigh that downside. like i've said though, the jury's still out on it for me until i've been running the unit for a good while.

in brief pros are cost, features, cost, support community and wide range of open-source software, also very fast development etc. oh, and did i mention cost?

cons are potentially reliability (though most squirters will say thats crap!), difficult to setup and install - much more involved, has to be built, and requires a lot more knowledge from the installer. and there's a lot of configuration too.
