Naah! lol

I just lock from the trunk. It is the easiest and you can double lock it from there.
Bingo. That's exactly what I've resorted to. It'll get fixed someday.

You guys really need to get keyless entry. $30 + an hour out of your day = major convenience.

In my case $60 + 2 hours = Remote Start, Alarm, Keyless Entry :D

For snow belt people, this comes in handy in the winter since you don't have to worry about jamming or breaking your key off when the lock cylinder freezes over.

Now how about a DIY article for that? I would like one but I wouldn't be able to do it without instructions. :)

If you mean keyless entry, there are several diy over at R3vlimited.com and bimmerforums. IIRC, basically you take off the rear trim piece in your trunk and splice in a few wires and that's it.

I am interested in not only keyless entry but your whole "In my case $60 + 2 hours = Remote Start, Alarm, Keyless Entry :D" ordeal. :)

$60 = remote start, Alarm, Keyless Entry ?  --->  I want!!

I haven't documented it but the next time I'm down underneath the dash working on stuff, I'll pull out all the wires and document it.

2 hours was my time since this is my 7th remote start install. The avg person might take 4 hours or so. ;)

Don't be. Power locks (central locking) was standard on all e30s especially the 1991 318iS.

If your m42 doesn't have it, something broke.

:confused: The only power feature I have is windows.
