Painted trim done!
« on: October 09, 2007, 07:48:45 PM »
Okay, here is what I have assembled thus far.  Side moulding is next to go on.  I realize this is not what others might try but, I am liking it.

I got the side skirts painted and ready but it looks like the only secure way to mount them is to drill.  There is not enough surface area on the skirts to adhere to and with.

Anyway, enjoy and opinions are welcome.

Mr Hof,

LOL.  Figures the King of Bleck Trim would be the first to weigh in.  I can always return to the original config.  I am curious as to IF it will crack.

Looking good.  I give the farewell to the black trim a thumbs up.  Good luck with your skirts.  Unfortunately mine are dusting away in a corner waiting a better day....

Keep it up man.  Looking forward to seeing it all together.

Thanks!  I am liking it.  How you been?  Man I was hoping your skirts were on and you could tell me how.  When are you going to do it?

I've never been a fan of the all whiteness on E30's, or that windshield banner.  But hey, my car is all black and white...so I am kinda skewed towards contrast.

...all whiteness on E30's, or that windshield banner...

Yeah, I like the contrast but def like the tone on tone.  The banner, I wish I had gotten the black.  Since I put in the Wink mirror and removed the visors I need something for that FL sun.

...is with black mirrors color matched...

Agreed.  I have an extra set to try that out.  I really want to move on to the interior, leatherique and carpet dye.

For Christmas I want the DA/SC.

ive always liked white e30's with black trim, and a black lower "is" spoiler......but your car looks sweet!, are you going to paint the side moulding also? i think you should, it think it will make the car look newer.

^^^^ Thank you.  I have the IS side skirts ready to go.  All I have to do is work up the courage to "measure twice, drill once."  I was hoping to use an adhesive but there is about1/4 inch of possible contact surface area at the top edge of the skirt.  I really DO NOT want to drill the car.  Later I want the AC rear apron.

What happened to your rear lip spoiler?

Not bad, but I'm not sure about it yet. Definitely not feelin the banner, though. Where did you get the paint?

What happened to your rear lip spoiler?

Took it off, painted it and it cracked again.  I really got tired of dealing with it so I took it off.  Had a "spare" trunk lid so swapped fpr the time being.

Where did you get the paint?

Standard paint using VIN#.  Paint shop ordered it.
