I have a half-cheesed 'box (my drill battery died in the middle) and it soulds really cool IMHO, plus it is free. I can't tell much of a performance difference, maybe just a little at the high end. It definitely does something, though, because if you put your hand next to the holes and rev the engine, its sucking in a lot of air.

Swiss cheese mod is just drilling holes in the airbox. On our cars, the best place to do it is along the left side where the airbox runs along the fender. All it does is let in a little more air and change the intake sound.

There was an article on R3Vlimited I believe that proved this mod as well as removal of the air intake "horn" actually lost power and in essence gives you a hot air intake.

This is true. I only did it because the rubber part of the intake that goes behind the headlights pops off due to intake suction. Drilling 6 small holes reduced vacuum enough the the rubber hose doesn't contract and pop out of its hole.
