I just got an Alcantara headliner from rscheiring on R3V - haven't tried to install it yet so I can't speak to fitment, but I know he has regular material available as well.

IIRC the headliner is only like $100 from the dealer.  I bought one last year and will be welding the roof shut this summer.

best bet it to look forever in salvage yards and hope for the best or buy one new I guess

I have a roof panel sitting on my front porch from a non-sunroof car.  I was going to swap it over, but it looks much harder than an E36.  They're just drilling the 10-12 spot welds and melting the brazing.  E30's look at lot more involved.
