Brake Pad Wear Sensor harness?
« on: February 23, 2007, 01:12:25 PM »
Anyone have a part number for the front brake pad sensor wiring harness?  Not the sensor itself, the harness that it plugs in to.

Seems the PO decided to 'fix' it, and, in trimming the rubber so he could get to the nicked wire, he gouged out a chunk of the other wire in there. So, I have about two strands of wire that are actually working out of the however-many-were-in-there. And they are a lovely shade of green, since, amazingly enough, electrical tape does a decidedly poor job of sealing out moisture.

Easiest way is go to a wrecking yard. Get the plug and about 6" of wire to splice in.

Yeah, but I don't have any local yards with E30s (that I know of)...

I'd rather buy a new one, but I can't find the damned thing in the ETK.

You could always check on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ for the part number. I know the dealers love it when you call the parts department and give them the numbers. Saves them time and research. But make sure it's the right part number. Hope that helps

Yes, I have been searching RealOEM for a while trying to find it, but, particularly for electrical items, it is sometimes challenging to find the right part.

61121367674, WIRING BRAKE WEAR WARNING INDICATOR, seems to be it - we'll see what arrives in the mail!
