M42 Sport Exhaust by Ireland engineering
« on: January 11, 2007, 12:40:07 PM »
I was in the process of ordering some parts from IR and mensioned that no one makes a sport exhaust for the M42 E30 cars here in the US that was worth a damn. The gentleman on the other end said that they (IR) would be willing to develop and exhaust for our cars if there was enough of an interest. This is were the M42 comunity comes into play. He said that we should email him and they will see how much interest they get and make plans accordingly. So let them know. jireland@earthlink.net

All I have to say is don't make the mistake of "buying presents" for your car. Some of the guys will know what this means.

well name another performance exhaust out there that isn't over $700

i think they're capable of making something decent.

Doesn't seem to be much advantage over stock for performance mufflers targeting the m42.

Ding Ding, hence my term "presents for your car". Anything that doesn't add any noticeable gains to your car are merely presents imo.

Obviously, if your motor is built already and the exhaust is the only bottleneck holding some good power back then that is where I can see an upgraded exhaust. But there seems to be only a handful of those so far.

factory headers flow quite well actually.

I go stock parts unless the upgraded parts give me a noticable advantage over stock. Build quality is also a factor when I'm deciding :).
