Possible ICV problem?
« on: December 14, 2006, 10:32:55 PM »
The car runs fine and purrs rather nicely however, there has been a few times upon starting the idle will run up to 1500 - 2000 rpm, I try the blip...nothing, I tried pulling/wiggling the cable...nothing, I turn the engine off and restart and all is fine???
Then will purring along at 3500, I lift my right foot to prepare to stop and the engine dies out! Turn key off, try starting and back to purring again!
I does idle a little rough, and I cleaned out the ICV & replaced most if not all my vaccum hoses (just did a head job), but the problems persist!

Has anyone had similar symptoms prior to changing out the ICV?

Oh, and I did a search, but didn't see anything.

TIA

I had a similiar situation and was pretty frustrating to troubleshoot. How many miles and how old is your O2 sensor?

For me, it was the O2 sensor.

Replacing that and resetting the ECU did the trick.

Do you have any fault codes stored?
