Hey Guys,

I'm new here, I live in Sydney Australia and just purchased my first e30.

I've got a 1990 318is which is mechanically stock, has 5 spoke 17" wheels and has had a red pearl respray with the full M-Tech 2 body kit. It's also had the head rebuilt not too long ago.

I'm looking to make a few performance mods, squeeze a bit of power out of the m42, and maybe update the suspension/brakes and to bring the quality of the interior up to match the exterior.

They are BSA Motorsport wheels with 205/40ZR17 tires.

I'm loving the plaid too

So far i'm up for both front control arms and bushings, and brakes all round.
Looking to upgrade to M3 CABs and then get some cross-drilled & slotted rotors w/ decent pads. Then I'll move onto a proper CAI and new muffler, then a chip.

Thoughts?

Absolutely do the M3 solid bushings. Excellent upgrade. The offset ones will improve turn-in as well.

I'd suggest the ATE PowerSlot rotors. They look cool & work well. I've been using GreenStuff pads that worked pretty well, next I'll be trying out some Akenobos.

Can't go wrong with a MarkD chip. Wait for a sale.

Well, I've been lurking around for a while now, figure its time for an update.

Last week I did a bunch of maintenance work on the car (oil change, spark plugs, filters, timing chain tensioner) and its running a lot smoother and quieter now.

I also swapped out the control arms for new Lemforder ones, with some genuine M3 CABs, which make the steering feel completely different. What people have said about more 'feedback' is absolutely true.

Next I'll be looking into brakes, at the moment I'm planning for some RDA slotted rotors with EBC greenstuff pads. Then I'll probably save up for some decent coilovers.

Also had a great drive tonight through Galston Gorge, which is this hair pin-ey and hill-ey road on the outskirts of Sydney, it made last week's effort so much more worthwhile.

I run Greenstuff on ATE PowerSlot rotors on mine as well, good combo. I liked them. I prefer Akebono cermaics, if only because of less mess.

Pretty chuffed right now.

Just had my first actual drive with the dbilas ITB kit I bought from bwawuz02.

Its taken me a while to sort out various vacuum leaks, a dodgy ICV and a leak in my throttle body heater bypass. Now I need to swap in some larger injectors and get it tuned.

Also running Greenstuff pads with RDA turbo-grooved rotors which work awesomely.

Yeah, the PO was a spray painter, so that makes sense. I got rid of the massive sub box etc he had in it, and are giving it a fair bit of love and attention.
