What's up? Finally got around to putting a thread up.
This is my E30:
*EDIT* It's a 318iS.

That puddle under the car was from the leaking power steering. I've since cut the belt for the pump. Much easier to deal with.

I bought the car last year in February off a guy that posted an add for it on craigslist. I paid a bit too much for it. My fault, though, as this was the first time I really bought a car used, so I wasn't thinking about checking everything. (You know... Like when you have your first accident, and you don't think about writing down all the persons info, including their current address and their phone number? Yeah. That sucked. It was with my truck, so don't worry about the BMW.

)
The car had 210k on it, and the title was a salvage. :\
From inspecting the car after that, I figured it was hit in the front right. There's a new fender (which looks to be from a vanilla 325), and it's a shade off from BrillantRot. The eyehole for the front right control arm bushing seemed to have snapped off because whoever fixed the car welded it back on. :\
That goes without saying that I'm replacing that.
It drives straight, which surprised me after knowing it was hit. The only thing is that it likes to follow the grooves in the pavement on the freeway. I've learned to control the car, but it's annoying. After looking at the supsension a bit closer, the sway bar isn't attached to the frame mounts. One of them snapped, and the other one is bent. Another thing I have to fix. Though, I don't know if it's causing the sudden movement of the wheels when going over the grooves in the pavement. From what I was reading, it could also be the bushings /in/ the LCAs. So I might have to replace the LCAs.
Kind of want to figure it out soon, as I've bought the m3 bushings, and if I have to replace the LCAs, I'd like to do them together. I don't want to worry about taking the LCA out of the bushing later and possibly f'n up the bushing.
Stock stereo. I'll deal with that later. It's not all that important right now. But I
am planning to build a custom sub box using two 10s: one active, and the other a passive radiator. Kind of like those infinity basslink? ...I think they're called that. That way I can save some space in the boot and still have sweet bass.
Tyres were good all around when I bought. Had some Kumhos in the front, which was cool, and some plain all seasons in the back. Fronts are wearing out now, so I'll have to replace them soon.
Anyone know what car these wheels come off of? They have the BMW logo on the centercaps.
I just replaced the rear shock mounts the other weekend. WOW. /Big/ difference. It's not so damn noisey anymore. I was getting sick of the *thud*thud*thud* when going over bumps and shitty pavement.
Replaced the grommet for the antenna, too, when I did the RSMs. Looks nice now, and I'm sure that eliminated some of the noise back there, too.
Need to get a lower front spoiler. The bumper looks a bit off, and seems to look as though it's going to fall off. I guess it stems from the damage it sustained in the accident. I'll have to take it off and look at what I can do sometime in the future.
A few months back, I bumped into the rear of a Jeep on the freeway at about 5-10mph. Luckily, the Jeep had it's spare tyre mounted on the back, and the my car managed to come into contact with the rim of the wheel. Dented the front part of the right fender near the lights. Nothing major. But I'll look into replacing that fender either way, so I can have BrillantRot all around. Then shortly after that, I couldn't avoid of a big chunk of tyre that came off a tractor-trailer. Broke the glass for my right fog. That annoyed me.

Need to replace a few plastic pieces here and there, but over all it looks good.
Just took the injectors out yesterday. Going to ship them to Witchhunter Performance to have them ultrasonically cleaned. Need to PASS SMOG. That shit drives me nuts. Planning on replacing the exhaust gasket and the lower exhaust flang gasket, wrapping the exhaust with heat wrap all the way down to the cats (but not the cats themselves), replacing the O2 sensor with the Ford one (cheap), doing a top-end cleaning with seafoam, and replacing the fuel pump. Maybe it'll get me to pass. I put a couple of fuel cleaner bottles (not all at once) through the system. It dropped the numbers significantly, but still didn't pass. I'll see what happens. Otherwise, I'll have to run ethenol with the gas just so I can pass the bloody test.
I'll look into getting some new shocks and springs. The front looks raised and goofy for it.
Need to replace the driveshaft main support bearing. The noise while accelerating through 1st and the the beginning of 2nd is driving me nuts.
I just want to have a good DD that drives fast, carves up the corners, and rides smooth. Prolly won't run this on the track much. My Mazda, a '92 Protege, will serve that purpose. (I still don't know if I want to supercharge the engine I'm building for it, or just switch it to a mid-rear using a 350 and the transaxle from a Caddy Elderado. That's become a slow project now anyway, and seeing as gas prices have become bloody insane, I don't even know if I want to finish the project.) The Mazda is a car that I would like to use for Autocross events and some regional hill climbs.
