transmission woes
« on: April 23, 2012, 09:29:46 PM »
every now and then i feel like my clutch isnt working or something, but it definitely is. Sometimes it takes a little extra effort and almost a quick nudge to get my car out of 2nd or 3rd gear. Seems to happen if I downshift into either 2nd or 3rd then try to shift into neutral to roll to a stop it kind of "sticks" almost like the clutch isnt disengaging, but if I'm stepping on the clutch and rev it, no power goes to the wheels, so the clutch is working.  I replaced the clutch less than 15K ago, and currently run redline MTL. new giubo, CSB, ujoints arent terrible on the d/s, new poly bushes in the whole rear end, motul fluid in the diff

any ideas?

Is it an ATF tranny?  IIRC that one has the yellow label.  I ran full synth gear oil in mine and it wasn't fun.  Swapped back to synthetic ATF and all has been well since.

You replaced the clutch master & slave too, right?

yep, master, slave, stainless steel line. i believe it is an ATF tranny, but from what i've read its only when its cold does the MTL have any effect. I guess I can throw some D4 in there and see what happens
